We met the jeep in Songan before dawn, stopped for the sunrise, then had breakfast with the mountain still in view. The Black Lava stop was the part I did not want to rush.

Pickup from Ubud was arranged the night before. Same sunrise route, and we were dropped back at the hotel after the lava fields. Parking was handled with the transfer.

Bring a warmer layer than you think. The open jeep is cold until the sun is up. The local guide kept the stops clear, and mineral water was in the jeep.
